At the Point of Capricorn

At the Point of Capricorn

Huddled together in a cave, several children crowd around a fire.  An old woman stokes the flames and tells the little ones not to fear the shorter days and the growing darkness. She explains that many travel to her far-flung home to hear her spin stories.

Coming in from the cold, a Viking asks that the old woman tell of bonfires and the Norse gods.  A lexicographer enters the chamber and corrects the Viking. The Norseman strikes the lexicographer down with his greatsword.

From the back of the cavern, a pastry chef announces himself and speaks of his home.  The old woman indicates that they are seated at the end of the world.
