11. Loyal to the Group of Seventeen’s Story – The Just Man

The Ascian announces that he wishes to enter the storytelling competition.  To the agitation of Melito and Hallvard, Folia permits the participation of the new suitor.  She interprets for the foreigner. 

A farmer in the country is cheated and beaten.  He travels to the capital city to seek justice.  Returning home, he is taunted and attacked.  The man returns to the capital and petitions the Group of Seventeen.  

The council instructs the farmer to return home and admonish the wrongdoers. The man bears the message to the farm but is again mocked and savaged.  He returns to the Group of Seventeen and is again commanded to dispel the offenders.  On his arrival to the farm, he is beaten.
