30. The Corridors of Time

Delirous and disoriented, Severian feels himself led outside and away from the Ascian encampment by his rescuers.  Through the fog of his confusion, Severian recognizes Agia and the green man of Saltus.

Severian begins to regain his senses, feels the many autarchs alive in him, and questions Agia’s motives.  She disavows her allegiance to the Ascians and confesses to murdering Vodalus using an alien weapon supplied by Hethor.  Before she departs, Agia threatens Severian.
