Christmas Inn
A summary of Gene Wolfe's short story, Christmas Inn.

June Christmas recalls a holiday visit of five strangers to her hotel in the countryside. She laments the passing of her daughter, Mary, who previously offered a helping hand in the family business.
Snowed in, the hotel stands vacant. June’s son, Wyatt, is surprised to encounter an idling SUV while shoveling the drive. The driver and his passengers disclose their Christmas destination, and Wyatt invites them to enjoy the holiday amenities of the hotel. The vehicle glides closer to the inn without Wyatt noticing the sound of its engine.
Dondel, Andril, Erennide, and Nranda enter the Christmas Inn trailed by a small child. Julius Christmas welcomes the unexpected guests to his hotel.
