A Fish Story
While on a fishing trip, three friends spot strange lights in the sky. Over a campfire, they discuss the supernatural. One of the men, Rab, cites his dislike of the paranormal and refuses to participate. His companion, Bruce, coaxes a story from him.
Rab recalls an Aunt Elspeth with a penchant for the occult. Hearing that she is near death and without any other living relatives, Rab decides to visit her in hospital.
Through ragged breathing, Elspeth describes at length her parents and her childhood. Rab asks Elspeth to swear that, if it proves possible, she will not communicate with him from beyond the grave. The old woman falls silent and glares at her nephew.
