6. The Library of the Citadel

Lying in response to Cyriaca’s inquiry, Severian indicates that he intends to return the Wonders of Urth and Sky to the Pelerines.  She examines the book and is reminded of the fabled archives of Nessus.

While caressing Severian, Cyriaca describes the ascent of mankind into space.  She explains the transfer of knowledge over the ages between man and machine.  Severian is reminded of Jonas.
