26. Sennet

Agia takes the note from Severian and throws it out of the room.  Severian is puzzled by the message and questions Agia about it but she is evasive.  Dorcas emerges from the bath.  Agia urges Severian to leave the inn and prepare for battle.  

Severian asks the innkeeper for stationary and Abban leads Severian to a writing desk.  There, Severian recreates the discarded note from memory. Severian questions Abban about the message and learns that it may be connected to the inn’s stableman, Trudo.  Abban calls for Trudo but learns that he has fled.
