16. The Rag Shop

Mourning the loss of Thecla, Severian walks with Dr. Talos and Baldanders to a café.  Talos loots the corpse of a dead man in the street before sitting for breakfast.  Baldanders and Talos explain to Severian that they are touring the country to raise money to rebuild their damaged home on Lake Diuturna.  Severian is invited to join them in their traveling show.
