14. The Antechamber

Observing an automaton guard of the House Absolute, Severian reflects on aliens and far-off worlds.  Suddenly, he and Jonas are captured and bound by several soldiers.  The men search Severian and confiscate Terminus Est.

Their captors lead Severian and Jonas from the woods into a series of manicured gardens.  Severian and Jonas notice Dr. Talos, Baldanders, Dorcas, and Jolenta in the distance.  Jonas tries to call to them but is struck by a guard.
